School Day

08:45-15:15 (32.5 hours a week)

The school day begins when doors open at 8.45am. Children begin the day accessing morning tasks in their classroom. Gates are locked at 8.55am to allow for parents to speak to a member of staff at the appropriate drop off point if necessary.

Most mornings, collective worship takes place as a whole school in our hall at 9am. Individual classes hold collective worship on a Tuesday and on Friday’s we celebrate and thank God for pupil achievements at 2.45pm.

Lunch times run for an hour and during this time, pupils can access a variety of play and sporting opportunities as well as our Faith, Eco and Computing clubs. Children may be brought into class for 15 minutes during the lunch hour for 1:1 or small group intervention. This is a whole school strategy used to support pupils in addressing gaps and misconceptions from English and maths lessons during the morning, to ensure they keep up with their peers.

The school day ends at 3.15pm and children should be collected from the allocated door for their year group. Children in year 5 and 6 may walk home independently once a form has been signed by a parent/carer.
