PTA – Friends of St Georges

Friends of St Georges is our PTA. When your child starts here, parents can become a member of ‘Friends of St Georges’ which is a registered school charity. We currently have a small number of dedicated school mums and dads that are actively involved, but we would love more to join!

They help to do two things:

The first is to raise money for our school. Parents here have always been extremely generous of their time and money. Everything raised is used to benefit the children of St George’s. In the past Friends of St George’s have equipped the school with playground equipment, raised money for Leavers’ Hoodies for our year 6 children, bought new reading books for our expanding reading areas and so much more.

The second, and equally important job for the PTA, is to make everyone at St George’s Primary feel like part of a community and to organise events that are fun for our children and their families. Each year the PTA run and support school events, examples include our annual St George’s Fair, Christmas Markets, Easter Bingo sessions and family discos helping to bridge the gap between home and school.

The PTA is led by a committee including parents and staff members. Committee members are usually elected annually at the PTA AGM (Annual General Meeting).
