Welcome to our school’s Sport Page. Here you can find all of our sports news and information. This will include: lunchtime/extra-curricular sports, tournaments both intra and inter school and our other sport news.
We are delighted to have been awarded Bronze School Games accreditation. We are expanding our organised sports offer this year and aim to attend more Shaw cluster and School Games competitions.
Last year, we had a very successful fundraiser which allowed us to purchase new playground equipment for the children to use at lunchtimes. Our next step is to expand our current offer of extra-curricular/organised activities at lunchtimes. This will help us move towards our ambition of having as many children achieving 30 active minutes during the school day as possible! Children can sign up to the following activities at the PE board this half term:
Monday | Frisbee | Handball
Tuesday | Dodgeball | Boys’ Football | Table Tennis (cancelled due to repairs) |
Wednesday | Lacrosse | Girls’ Football | Playground Games |
Thursday | Dodgeball | Hockey
Friday | Frisbee | Tournaments |
Children in Key Stage 1 will continue to access multi-skills at lunchtime, with the aim of building their fundamental movement skills.
Any KS2 children taking part in activities may change into their trainers. However, they must do this in their own time (at the start of lunch) and must be back in correct uniform by the end of lunchtime.
We are encouraging as many of our children to take part in the daily mile in their break times as possible. The children can tick their name in class when they run, walk or jog a mile in their school day! Why not encourage your child to take part?
Year 6 will be completing their Sports Leaders (REAL Leaders) in Autumn 1, this will enable them to lead more activities throughout the year!
