Behaviour for Learning

Right from the start of our pupil’s journey in school, we aim to instil in them an understanding of the choices they make and the impact these choices have on themselves and others. We view behaviour as communication and want to enable pupils to become well-rounded and respectable members of their community; both inside and outside of school. This will enable them to develop into ‘good citizens’. Understanding our pupil’s behaviour choices through Biblical principles is part of our school ethos, ensuring our behaviour policy is underpinned by the love of God and the forgiveness we find in him through Jesus Christ.

We expect our pupils to follow our Star Statements:

  1. Do your best
  2. Keep yourself and others safe
  3. Co-operate with others
  4. Use friendly language
  5. Be respectful

For pupils to achieve their full potential, it is important for them to develop skills of resilience, independence, inquisitiveness, team work and a thirst for learning. Developing these skills is threaded into our lessons right from when pupils join us in Reception. These skills will enable them to continue to be life long learners and respectable members of their community.
