Computing

Computing is the safe use of technology to enhance our lives.

Vision for Computing (Intent)

Our computing curriculum is designed to equip all our children to participate in a rapidly changing world where work and leisure activities are increasingly transformed by technology. We strive to enable all our children to become digitally literate by finding, exploring, analysing, exchanging and presenting information in a variety of ways and by using a variety of devices.

At ECSTG we endeavour to develop all our children to become computer scientists, through being taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. We also focus on developing the skills necessary for children to be able to use information in a safe, responsible, discriminating and effective way. Computing skills are a major factor in enabling our children to be confident, creative and independent learners in all curriculum subjects ready to use these skills in the future.
