PSHE

Learning about ourselves and others

Vision for PSHE (Intent)

Pupil’s will acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives now and in the future through a whole school approach which seeks to develop the qualities and attributes needed to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society. Our curriculum seeks to equip pupils to live healthy, safe, productive, capable, responsible and balanced lives. Encouraging them to be enterprising and supporting them in effective transitions through positive learning experiences which enable them to achieve economic wellbeing.

At ECSTG our curriculum seeks to provide opportunities for our pupils to reflect, explore and clarify their own values and attitudes exploring the complex and sometimes conflicting range of values and attitudes they encounter now and in the future from a Christian based perspective. Through our programme we seek to contribute to developing confidence, resilience and self-esteem; to identify and manage risk and make informed choices understanding what influences their decisions. We want to enable pupils to recognise, accept and shape their identities, understand and accommodate difference and change, manage emotions and communicate effectively and constructively. Through our curriculum we seek to develop pupils social, emotional, cultural and spiritual knowledge and understanding as well as instilling a developing understanding of core British values.
